See what TipSync does at the gate

You do not need a full waste ERP just to survive October. TipSync keeps the gate moving while creating the audit trail you need.

✏️

Record a load in 30 seconds

One screen for carrier, vehicle, waste code, and weight. Auto-complete from your saved carriers and waste codes. No duplicate entry.

Submit directly to DEFRA

Each receipt is sent to the DEFRA Digital Waste Tracking API. You get a Waste Tracking ID back — your proof of compliance.

🔧

Fix failures without the guesswork

If DEFRA rejects a submission, TipSync tells you exactly which field failed and why — in plain English, not API jargon. Fix and resubmit in one click.

📋

End-of-day clean check

One screen confirms every load that day has been submitted successfully. Print or export the daily report for your records or EA inspection.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need TipSync if DEFRA has its own portal?+

DEFRA is building a free portal, but it’s designed as a general-purpose tool for all waste operators. TipSync is built specifically for busy receiving sites that process dozens of loads a day. It’s faster at the gate, handles submission failures with plain-English guidance, and runs an end-of-day compliance check — things the DEFRA portal won’t do. You can think of it as the operational layer that sits on top of DEFRA’s system.

Who is TipSync for?+

Any permitted waste receiving site in England, Wales, or Northern Ireland — transfer stations, skip hire yards, recycling centres, MRFs, landfill sites. If you hold an Environment Agency permit and receive waste from third parties, TipSync is built for your workflow.

Does TipSync submit directly to DEFRA?+

Yes. TipSync connects directly to the DEFRA Digital Waste Tracking API. Each receipt you submit receives a unique Waste Tracking ID from DEFRA — the same ID you’d get using their own portal. Nothing is stored only in TipSync.

What happens if a submission fails?+

DEFRA’s API can reject submissions for missing or invalid fields. TipSync catches these failures, identifies exactly which field caused the rejection, and shows you a plain-English explanation with a one-click fix. No need to decode API error codes.

Can I use TipSync alongside my current process?+

Yes. Many sites will run TipSync in parallel with their existing paper or spreadsheet process for a few weeks before the mandate takes effect. TipSync doesn’t replace your weighbridge system — it handles the DEFRA submission part.

Do I need my permit number to start?+

No. You can create your account and explore TipSync without a permit number. You’ll add it later when you’re ready to connect to DEFRA.

How quickly can we go live?+

Most sites are set up and submitting within a day. Create your account, add your carriers and waste codes, and you’re ready to record loads. There’s no installation, no hardware, and no IT department needed.

What is the Founding Sites Programme?+

TipSync is offering up to 50 permitted receiving sites free access until 1 January 2027, including the first live quarter of the DEFRA mandate. Founding sites get full product access, founder onboarding, and priority support. In return, we ask for weekly feedback during your first month and a testimonial or reference if you're happy. Paid plans start from January — cancel any time before then with no charge.

Is TipSync listed on the DEFRA provider list?+

TipSync is registered with DEFRA's software provider onboarding process and supports all 14 Production Approval Test scenarios. We are progressing through DEFRA's production approval process. Check our DEFRA PAT status page for the latest update.
