Who we are

TipSync is operated by Kurt Osborne ("we", "us"). We provide a digital waste tracking service for permitted waste receiving sites in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

What data we collect

• Account data: name, email address, and role (admin or operator) for each user account.
• Site data: site name, permit number, and address.
• Waste receipt data: carrier details, vehicle registrations, waste codes, weights, and submission records as required by the Environment Act 2021.
• Audit trail: a log of actions taken within the system for regulatory compliance.
• Billing data: Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. We do not store card numbers.

Why we process it

We process your data to provide the waste tracking service and to meet the legal obligation under the Environment Act 2021 for digital waste tracking. The lawful basis is contract performance (providing the service you signed up for) and legal obligation (regulatory record-keeping).

How long we keep it

Waste receipt records are retained for at least 3 years, as required by UK waste regulations. Account and billing data are retained for the duration of your subscription plus 12 months. You may request earlier deletion of non-regulatory data.

Where it is stored

Data is stored in Supabase (hosted in the EU) and served via Vercel. DEFRA submissions are sent to the UK government's Digital Waste Tracking API.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
